This jolly folk art bunny is my lovely entry for the NFAC (NibbleFest Art Contest). I think he may have come out of my holiday spirit hahaha! This month's theme is "Christmas Tree".
This reproduction is based on a painting I did on some folk art I see around my area, so you might say it's a product of my environment. I did a series of Bunny which still cracks me up today so I might just decide to revive him and his happy personality :)
This item, as the rest of the NFAC listings start at 99 cents.

These bunnies are so cute. I love those heart-shaped eyes!
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful folk art style. More of this from you please!
ReplyDelete"This jolly folk art bunny is my..."
To me he looks like he's got a grinch streak which i love ; )
Leave it to you Akiko to pick up such subtleties, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWell Alice, lol the Bunny is ME lol I have a grinch streak, glad you love hahaha
ReplyDeleteKind of reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit. A really charming piece of art.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tiglizzyclone...say what does your name mean? And what is the story of the Velveteen Wabbit?
ReplyDeleteHow cute these are! I want to buy Baby Bunny's First Christmas for baby Liam. Is it still available?
ReplyDeleteMiss seeing you...and Linda...and Shirley. Maybe we'll get back into a routine soon! I am painting at Tim's on Wednesdays now...his other students wanted a weekday instead of Saturday.

Hi Vicki, all the originals are sold on these, I'm just selling prints thanks though :) Do you call Liam "Bunny"?
ReplyDeleteWith Mom arriving next month and Linda still healing, I'm thinking we might not be meeting in December or at least it would only be you and Linda Lou. Loves ya!
Erika, those bunnies are darling! Where was I when the originals were being sold? My gawd! Amazingly cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Velveteen Rabbit is the book about a toy rabbit that belongs to a boy. The rabbit wishes to be real... and after a time gets his wish. There is a film version too. Tiglizzy, I thought it up when I wanted to have my own private label for the clothes I sewed. It is a combined name. Tiger, the coolest cat that ever lived. We used to take him in the car, he would sit in the back window of the car and watch the world go by. We were his family. Lizzy is just a shortened form of mine, and my daughter's middle name Elizabeth. I added the clone later... influenced by watching so many sci-fi movies.
ReplyDeleteCaren I'm so flattered that you're attracted to my Bunny series since you love bunnies! I guess it was some whim idea I had last winter?
ReplyDeleteTiglizzyclone what a cute story - both! I'll have to investigate a little more of the Velveteen Rabbit then :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the clothing line, did you pursue it?
Erika, you definitely have to read the Velveteen Rabbit. It's a classic.
ReplyDeleteAnother good book that is more recent is The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane. It's also a bunny story.
Yes I really like your bunny art, I see a lot of bunny art that I don't care for but you really captured a feeling with those bunny pieces. You always stun me with your versatility!
I mostly do a lot of sewing for myself, my mom, and daughter. I just thought having labels would be fun, like saying made with sweat and tears by Tiglizzy.
ReplyDeleteCaren I'm really flattered that you liked the Bunny series. I seriously wonder where off the wall ideas like that land! I'll check out those wabbit stories :)
ReplyDeleteTiglizzy I actually do pay attention to those labels because I know some creative person was proud of it ;)
ReplyDeleteErika, I just got my set and they are STUNNING! Thank you again Erika for the excellent Ebay service! I am thrilled to be able to have some of your watercolors in my studio for inspiration! •♥•
ReplyDeleteOh dear sweet Alice I'm so glad you like your art prints! Your support of my work means so much to me. And now I will copy that heart you did •♥•
